une petite aventure, 2

These pictures are mainly from my mom's camera.

Sainte-Mère-Église.
See the dummy hanging from the church? It commemorates John Steele, who was caught on the steeple while parachuting down during the night before D-Day (thanks Wikipedia). Recommended viewing, The Longest Day.

Apertifs at our lovely B & B.

Charming inn where we had drinks.

Giant chess!

Happy Father's Day, Dad!

Cute little seaside town where we had dinner.

Loved my first visit to Normandy, and would definitely like to go back sometime. The race was great fun as well! Although, a word to the wise: bring your own safety pins to pin on your bib, and be prepared for long lines for the bathroom before the race. Beat my PR by quite a bit though, so I won't complain :)

Finally, a quote from Victor Hugo:
(on a card my mom sent to me)

Be a bird perched on a frail branch
That she feels bending beneath her,
Still she sings away all the same,
Knowing she has wings.
