Looking out my backdoor

I know it has only been a few days since I posted last, but already I have so many pictures that it's overwhelming to think of putting them all online. As if there weren't enough beautiful things to photograph, I've also begun snapping pictures of whatever strikes me as bizarre or whimsical. Also--it must be admitted--I sometimes take pictures of absolute strangers just because I like what they're wearing or am bored of taking so many "scenery" shots. So here's a sampling of my life over the past several days. Although there are no pictures to prove it, rest assured that I am writing. What else would one do, for instance, on a Friday night out in rural Massa Lubrense, Italy? In fact, at the risk of losing your interest as this becomes an unusually long intro, I just finished a "rewrite" (I put it in quotes because it was not too extensive) of a longish short story, which I am actually somewhat happy with. Now I just have to find a contest/similar that accepts 40+ page short stories . . . Thoughts and suggestions welcome!

(Extra points for anyone who gets the reference in this post title.)
Based on my remembered Latin, plus the Italian version nearby, I think this means: "The name / title of 'friend' is common, but faithfulness is rare."

Love it!

Outing to Capri

Can't quite figure out how to get these two pictures side by side...
...but if you use a little imagination, you can see they form one mountain.

Anacapri.

A gym underneath a restaurant--in this super-quiet little town.

Pretty fun bus ride!

Kind of want these shoes.

Classy. Makes me wonder what Capri was like in the early 1900's.

They're still gearing up for the big tourist season.

This is where I met the creepy old man.

Did find some nice views, at least.

Safely on my own again, I found this plaque!

The ferry crew/staff catching up on sleep before the return.

Room with a view? I think yes.

The drive down the Amalfi Coast does remind me of California's Highway 1 a bit. But more dramatic I think. Esp. when you're standing up in a crowded bus!

Positano

If Santa does it . . .

A veiled song reference?

Wouldn't mind having drinks/reading/watching the world go by on any one of those rooftop terraces.

Kind of got lost trying to find my way to the bus stop :P
