meditation

ALMIGHTY and everlasting God,
who art always more ready to hear than we to pray,
and art wont to give more than either we desire, or deserve;
Pour down upon us the abundance of thy mercy;
forgiving us those things whereof our conscience is afraid,
and giving us those good things which we are not worthy to ask,
but through the merits and mediation of Jesus Christ,
thy Son,
our Lord.

Amen.

Monterey Excursion

Joey found us a warm corner for the feast (feast not pictured).
Our first stop was Ragged Point. For lunch, of course. We were excited.
 A couple of weeks ago, Joey, Chelsey and I drove up Highway 1 to see Frank, who is working in Monterey this summer. We had fun, and took a few pictures along the way.

Afterwards, we soaked in the breathtaking views . . . unfortunately, we are blocking part of the view in this shot :P Photo credit: Chelsey.
Unflattering, but proof that I maneuvered the tortuous roads of Highway 1 ;)

Roadwork. Typical California.

17 Mile Drive. Neglected to take pics of Point Lobos the day before, but that was spectacular as well.

Strike a pose?!

One of the many LARGE homes along 17 Mile Drive.

In case you can't see, Joey is giving us the "Fight On" sign.

A charming bookshop that was, tragically, closed.

Will have to go back!

Downtown Monterey.

We found the most incredible Italian restaurant!

And ate LOTS of fantastic food. This picture was taken in the we-are-hungry-and-excited phase.

Point Pinos Lighthouse.

Somewhere along Asilomar State Beach, I think.

.

Saw some odd things being sold/displayed in Pacific Grove.

Joey and Frank examine a beached whale.

But wait, there's more! Check out the store logo in the next picture.

Yes, that is a stormtrooper with skulls and roses. We did not go into this store.

On a more tranquil and lovely note, the Carmel Mission.
