Deutschland

London Paddington + Mind the Gap

That's the moon you see by the no smoking sign.

Frank's cool setup.

The man himself.

Red poppies.

Exploring Mainz.

Really awesome market!

View from the citadel.

Classic Mini spotted by Frank.

Not sure whether this is meant to be one of our politicians or one of theirs?

Love the little grey house kind of crookedly in there.

Posh neighborhood by the river.

The Rhine.

Lovely park along the river.

Middlebury lion?

So cool. They've put in a "beach" complete with beach chairs and volleyball and palm trees!

Frank's creation.

Not sure why this is sideways . . . But Frank in the kitchen.

Heidelberg.

We met up with my college friend Erin and her husband Brad and baby Bruce, whom I somehow failed to capture on camera :(

Thai food. In Germany.

A not-great action shot of the main street in the old town.

One of several cathedrals.

Love these narrow, colorful backstreets.

Exploring the old castle.

Beautiful ruin. And the couple I incidentally included in the shot.

Black Horse, represent.

Biggest wine cask ever.

Paddle boarder.

Odd shape for a building.

These looked quite a bit like California poppies.

Another contender for The Grand Budapest Hotel look.

Such lovely sunshine!

We took a little hike.

Wiesbaden.

One of a few striking cathedrals.

Literary club!

Theatre.

Cute little old man and his little old dachshund.

The casino. Apparently Dostoyevsky and Wagner gambled here at one time.

Inside the casino.

This amphitheatre really seemed to amplify the sound of the band. It was great because you could hear the music while walking in the park.

Clay tennis courts!

Crazy house...

...with a crazy fence.

Hot springs fountain-thing.

I tasted the special water--super salty... Not feeling like it did much for me, but then again I only tried a bottle cap full.

Part of this wall dates back to Roman times.

Star Wars Legos!

Sunrise. Frank was an awesome brother and took me all the way back to the Frankfurt Airport.
