The graduates

Joey completed high school and will be attending USC this fall.
Fight on!

Ralph graduated Cal Poly with a degree in Forestry and Resource
Management and is going to be busy fighting fires this summer.

So proud of my brothers Ralph and Joey, and wanted to share these pictures of them looking scholarly :)

The reason a lot of people do not recognize opportunity is because it usually goes around wearing overalls looking like hard work.

Thomas Edison

I don't pity any man who does hard work worth doing. I admire him. I pity the creature who does not work, at whichever end of the social scale he may regard himself as being.

Theodore Roosevelt

If you never saw an eagle fly

This wasn't exactly on my bucket list, but flying in a four-seater plane is getting pretty darn close to flying in a helicopter, so I thought it was worth mentioning! One of my friends from church has his pilot's license, and he was looking for people to go up with him last Sunday. Naturally, I was more than willing to oblige. Nothing like looking down from 2500 feet to gain a fresh perspective on familiar places.

Why yes, I did get to try steering--with a little help.

Morro Rock

Cayucos, I think

Seven Sisters (or some of them)

Looking towards Montaña de Oro

Coming in for a landing (definitely not "driving" at this point).

And the Colorado rocky mountain high
I've seen it rainin' fire in the sky
I know he'd be a poorer man if he never saw an eagle fly

So much fun . . . the Central Coast really is a beautiful area.
